Welcome to Gordon-Conwell Library Systems: Library News

News Flash!

GCTS, we have some exciting news to share with you. The GCTS Library is on the move and getting a long overdue update to the system. The official rollout video will be posted online soon.

The Goddard Library. The Goddard Library, located at the Hamilton Campus, is preparing for a move from the present building facility to the Pierce Great Hall in the Kerr Building. This is a massive undertaking that will require "all hands on deck." Please remember to pray for our President, upper level seminary administrators, trustees, staff, librarians, and student library workers as we navigate this enormous challenge. The end result will be a thing to behold!

What's Happening?

1. The DTL (Digital Theological Library). We are grateful to the DTL for providing our patrons with exceptional service for several years. The new business model is not sustainable for the current and future needs of GCTS. Therefore, we are ending this relationship with a pledge to continue providing the GCTS learning community with a robust collection of electronic resources. No significant resources will be unavailable due to this change in vendors. Rather, the upgrade will facilitate greater access and a more satisfying user experience for all of our patrons.

2. NOBLE (North of Boston Library Exchange).  We are thrilled to share that we have been approved to join the NOBLE system. This opens up a wide range of benefits including unprecedented access to physical and digital resources. This is a list of the databases we will be able to access by joining NOBLE.

  • Britannica Escolar
  • Britannica Library
  • Britannica School
  • Gale Academic OneFile + OneFile Collections
  • Gale in Context: Opposing Viewpoints
  • PebbleGo

In addition to these general education databases, NOBLE is also providing these premium databases to GCTS.

EBSCO access is funded by the libraries of NOBLE. Over half a million full-text articles from EBSCO are viewed by NOBLE users annually. Here are additional EBSCO databases which will come online soon through our partnership with NOBLE.
